Mirus Antique Cast Iron Enameled Stove Space Heater Circa 1920’s Paris France. This is a nice antique stove branded “Mirus” in close to working condition. The Front, top, sides, door and legs are green enameled cast iron. The enamel on the front and top is in nice condition for it’s age with only a few nicks and chips mostly on the top and back, The enamel on the fire door has more wear and chips due to the door being pushed shut with logs. Although there are quite a few chips in the. On the side and door of the stove, almost every Mirus stove I have seen has no. Left in these spots and some don’t even have the cast iron panel left. The stove is 18.5″ wide, 22.5″ tall and 11 Deep – Not counting the chimney and spacing need for proper safe use. We have ordered replacement Antique NOS Mica glass panels which will be here Dec. If not they will be sent out once they arrive here. Looks like someone took the time to add a fairly thick piece of sheet metal on top of the original roof sheet meta, l most likely to seal any pinholes so the stove would work without any unwanted leaks. This added metal can not be seen as the original enameled cast iron lid sits on top of that hiding it from sight. The bottom of the stove has a layer of thin fire brick that looks to have some cracks and a couple of missing pieces We are including new fire bricks for the bottom but not installing them. The stove uses a 3 chimney pipe which is NOT included. 3 x 3 ft. Having a qualified contractor to install the stove would be advised and most likely necessary. The reason being is that there are building codes that vary from region to region and those codes need to be strictly followed. After addressing these normal issues of installing a wood stove by a competent person, the stove could be used again if wished. Please look at the pictures closely and judge the condition, size and content of this lot for yourself as our photos are a large portion of our description. A nice piece of history with a definite country appeal, great for your cabin, log home, country kitchen, or hunting retreat. CONDITION: The parts appear to be pretty complete and in overall good shape albeit normal wear from use. Working order is not known. There are a few of the cast iron parts with cracks that need to be welded. The enamel coating is in overall good shape with some areas of wear, I believe it won’t take much to restore this beauty to working condition. It is the buyers responsibility to check with their contractor or any local ordinances concerning the use of this stove. This is a beautiful cast iron enameled French stove. The firebox inside is rusted but has no holes and was in use. The fire boxes can be replaced, and there are companies that do so today. Inside is a large tall cylinder where this stove burned wood, pellets, or can be converted to bio fuel, this is a multi fuel stove. There are two doors in the front, as well as a drawer that pulls out from the bottom. The top lifts off in two pieces. There are no holes or cracks in the cast-iron, but this does have scratches and wear from use in the enameling. This is the 2nd largest in the Lily, Hella, Regalia family. It is slightly t. Ller than its counterparts, standing taller than the very popular “Lily” The casting designs on the front of the stove are exquisite. The enamel work is in very good condition there is not even the usual wear which is to be expected on any piece like this stove that is of a certain age. This stove is nearly a work of art! This is medium sized stove, and is called a’poele à feu visible et continue’ by the manufacturers. In almost pristine condition, and with the quality of casting and enamelling associated with Deville. The stove epitomises the best in Art Nouveau style and design. This stove is a working stove, and as such it does have one or two small chips to the enamel, but you have to search hard and can’t find any! Please note that the mica windows are in excellent condition, there appears to be a notch taken out of the exterior shelf but it does not effect it at all. It is around 80-90 years old and the condition is superior to a usual stove of its age. All working parts are in excellent condition, just connect the flue, light the match and away you go! This stove was designed for coal and coke burning, it will burn wood easily too but in smaller pieces. It will run on one charge of anthracite for 12-18 hours This is a beautiful, unusual stove and these photos do not really do it justice. The price when new, in 1930, was 435 old French francs. I’ve never used the stove. I’d strongly suggest a professional install it. ALL WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ARE ROUGH ESTIMATES. Depth 28cms 11 to a maximum of 17. The flue size is 3¼ 13¾ from the floor. What a sweet little coal heater this is. An antique dealer friend of ours found this in the back of his storage area he was cleaning out and we happened along at just the right time. We have never had or seen one of these before. This looks very much like a GODIN style coal heater but has the name THERMOCET on the front panel. This is very heavy for the size and is well constructed. The stove body is heavy gauge steel with a thick fire lining. As shown the stove body is fitted with heavy enameled cast iron fittings of a cream color. In overall nice condition this appears to have been little used. The only issues noteworthy are several chips in the enamel and the ash door is missing its knob. The mica window is intact. There is a damper in the stove pipe outlet. The ash pan has it’s handle. There is a removable top stove lid under the fancy decorative top. The stove sits on 3 enameled legs so there is never any wobble. 33 tall with a top o. Very attractive little coal heater.
