Ideal for use on any cooktop, including induction. Oven and broiler safe up to 500°F. For best results, use low to medium heat. When using high heat, bring slowly to a high temperature. Use plastic, wood or nylon utensils only; metal utensils may damage the enamel. Enamel may chip or crack if banged against a hard surface. Handles and knobs can become very hot. Allow to cool before washing. Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking for a few minutes in hot, soapy water. Dry completely before storing. Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive cleaners. Staub traces its origin to the Alsace region of France, where founder Francis Staub designed his first enameled pot while working in an old French artillery factory in 1974. With the goal of creating the perfect pot for cooking the region’s traditional hearty soups, stews and braises, he combined cast iron, the most popular material of the time, with the latest enameling technology available. Today, Staub still makes its cookware at a traditional atelier in France, casting each pot in an individual sand mold, which is heated to 800°F and destroyed after use. The exterior enamel coating is made with glass powder and mineral pigments, applied in two or three coats to generate brilliant glossy colors.

NOW ON SALE CHECK IT OUT! Each photo shows a different side, plus the top and base. Never broken, no replaced parts, and no problems. Some pieces were originally nickel plated to make it look more like a real stove, but since I do nothing to old items, it doesn’t show as bright as it could. A bit of polish would make it brighter, but not by me! It is 6 7/8″ X 4″ and made by Schneider & Trenkamp Co. No exact date, but from the feel of the iron it is 1920 or older. No repairs, all original. There are 10 different pieces to this old stove bank, and if you ever get the bright idea to take it apart, you had better get help in putting it back together. A few heavy duty rubber banks would also work! If you look closely, the vertical parts are two pieces each, and that makes it much more of a skill to put it back together. Better to just leave it alone. Shown in Moores’ “PENNY BANK BOOK” page 120, top shelf M# 1357 and rated a “C”. It’s more like a “D” because it is so very difficult to find, especially in this great condition. GUARANTEED OLD AND AUTHENTIC! THAT’S ONLY FAIR AND ALL SELLERS SHOULD DO IT! (but they don’t).
