An antique Buck’s Junior 2 cast iron stove, very heavy. Mostly complete and missing some of the factory pieces, also one of the circular burner covers was replaced with a plastic piece. Normal wear and patina to cast iron, one rear leg is loose although the stove will stand with it in place. This most elaborate four column cast iron stove is attributed to “James Wager Troy NY 1840-43″. The Albany Institute of Art has a large collection of these Ornate parlor stoves that were made in the Albany area. Tammis Groft former curator at the Albany Institute in her book called “Cast with Style” pictures many elaborate examples, & one most similar to this one by Wager. Stove bodies usually mirrored the taste of the period in furnishings and architecture. The metal-plate sides, fronts and tops of the simplest boxes of the 1830’s are stamped with neoclassic motifs of the Empire style. Some parlor stoves made in that decade for wealthy clients reflect the rage in that time for Greek Revival architecture. Whether placed in a period interior, or as a focal point of a room, this cast iron stove will be a treat to look at. There is a small almost triangular piece of iron missing under the left round circle near the base. Wear consistent with age and use. X W 32 in. X D 22 in. H 147.32 cm x W 81.28 cm x D 55.88 cm. Junior “The Great Majestic” antique 19th century 1870’s cast iron stove. This is the rare salesman sample! Comes with everything shown in photos. Has both upper side detachable Majestic shelves. Had right side Stove detachable Majestic shelf. Comes with 2 original Majestic cast iron pans (shown in photos). And one handle that’s attached to front left side (not exactly sure what parts called). Comes with original oven rack (shown in photos). Everything opens/closes and works perfectly. Stove could use a cleaning. Even a wet rag shines it up quite a bit but I only did one small spot. This stove is stunning in the current condition as it is. Would love to see it when it’s all shined up! Overall this is in great condition, especially for its age. Does have one small rusted corner on back bottom right (as shown in photos). Condition is exactly as shown in photos so please use your own best personal judgement as well. So please feel free to ask any questions beforehand. I will include photos of the process and which screws go where. Very simple setup (just the four screws for the top). C Antique Cast Iron Stove & Cauldron. Stands 35″ tall with a very large cauldron measuring 24″ top diameter. Stove base is a rectangular 30″ x 18″ at the longest parts. Cast marked on both sides “Twenty Two Gallons” & cast marked on stove door Orr, Painter & Co. In antique very used condition with expected losses including metal loss at front left bottom corner, metal loss front lower edge, rust thru at base of flue extension & one bracket broken at inside base (all shown in pictures). Rust on all surfaces. Stove is made up of a base & 4 sides, all held together by a top collar. Cauldron rests inside the collar & has a farm handmade handled tin lid. Once collar is removed, stove comes apart into 5 pieces. Very old post civil war era piece that was used for fat rendering. Stove can still be used as is or metal repairs can be made.
