Nice old piece of cast-iron, from Akron Ohio. Does have some minor rusting but a beautiful deco industrial look, and a great owl design. Measures 23 1/2 x 16 1/4.
Maker: Favorite Stove & Range Co. Marking: “FAVORITE PIQUA WARE” + diamond-shaped MIAMI logo. Size: #7 (about 9.25″ diameter) x 1.75″ T. Miami skillets are generally believed to be a mid-grade line, but they were still well cast and machined – nearly identical to the quality to the premium Piqua Ware skillets. So your piece dates to the 1920s or early 1930s, right before Favorite’s closure in 1935. The Miami-marked skillets are not as common as the standard Piqua Ware, so collectors like to grab them when they pop up. The diamond-shaped Miami logo gives it some extra display value – it’s visually striking compared to the plain Piqua markings. Cooking Surface: Smooth, glassy, and even, no pitting – perfect for daily cooking. Bottom: Crisp logos, continuous heat ring, no cracks. Flatness: Sits dead flat on a marble counter top. Nice light vintage weight. Finely Cast: See pics – sidewalls are thinner than a us nickel!

These stoves were made to heat and throw light this one has Isen glass windows or material behind the metal you can see it behind the circular holes in the pictures. I was told that this is a working unit you have to know what you’re doing and add kerosene and adjust the wick correctly. And light It up. I would do so outside until you get used to this particular setup. It’s about the same size as any of the Perfection brand stoves that are also kerosene heaters. Serious offer seriously considered.

Rockford 190 Wood/Coal Parlor Stove Plymouth Stove Works Newark Ohio 116. This stove was restored in the early 80s just after the oil crisis of the 70s it was installed in our house as a backup heat source and lit once or twice a year as a novelty. This beauty can put out some heat using coal or wood. The decorative silver side pieces are made to be removed to sneak into your bed at night to keep those toes warm (that’s what my father always said). There is now some slight surface rust in a few places but nothing major on this heavy iron piece. A little TLC will make this piece a proud showpiece in your house or cabin. Take some time and nickel plate the items that are now painted with heat rated silver paint and it will show like a work of art. Please ask any questions before purchasing.
