Hudson River Stove Works Red Burgundy Catskill Model Wood Stove with Glass Door. This stove is made of. Heavy cast iron which radiates heat into the home long after the fire has gone out and will last a lifetime. The cast iron is coated with porcelain in a deep, burgundy color. The fire box has a double walled cast iron liner reflecting radiant heat back into the fire, which results in a cleaner, more efficient burn. The glass door is all one piece and is very easy to clean with wood stove spray cleaner. In fact, it doesn’t get very smokey at all because the stove is so efficient you don’t have to clean it very often. Efficiency, burn time and BTUs. Will vary depending on the moisture content and type of wood used. Max burn time without adding logs is 7 hours. It can put out as much as 35,000 BTUs with the air vent (the draft) opened all the way. But we found we had to partially close the draft to keep from getting the rooms downstairs too hot. Ideal log length is 16 in. If put in diagonally it may take logs as long as 17 in. But it becomes frustrating to try to use logs that are too long. The dimensions of the stove are listed above in Item Specifics. The flue can be mounted on the stove top or the back of the stove. It takes a 6 in. Flue and 6 in. The owner’s manual comes with it and contains very clear directions for attaching the stove pipe and deciding exactly how you want to position the stove in your space. Antique Gas Parlor Heater Ornate Filigree Cast Iron w Glass Jewels

An antique 4-jeweled gas parlor heater from the late19th to early 20th century. The pretty, ornamental top and bottom sections are made of heavy cast iron. The four vertical pipes are a thinner metal and the four jewels on the front, which would glow when the heater was lit, are made of glass. The shut-off valve appears to be brass. It opens and closes easily and appears to work fine although it has not been tested in any way. The overall condition of the heater is good. There is no apparent damage. It shows signs of normal wear for it’s ageand the top and bottom cast iron sections appear to have been plated or chromed which is worn and the front cover plate, which would have carried the name of the heater is missing. It measures about 13″ wide x 6″ deep x 18 tall. Please see the photos for details.
