NOW ON SALE, NEW LOWER PRICE! But the paint isn’t! Someone with the time and paint, decided to paint it blue & off white over the original blue finish! Painted the skillet & coal hod and the lids! . Every thing was painted either blue or white, everything but the very back & under the base! The coal hod & lids WERE nickel plated when new, but now they really do match the stove! The gas pipe connection on the front, with the knobs are all still there and complete! Top to base the stove stands 11 3/4″ tall, and 9″ wide. The cooking service is 4 1/4″ X 9″ wide. I was going to strip it. “WAS” but just never did do it! I don’t usually change old things, but this Blue Bird just SCREAMS STRIP ME! So nothing was ever changed. It really does look cute on a shelf. It weighs nearly 7 pounds and is not broken or repaired. Probably from the 1920/30’s. Each lid is 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 dia alone. And fit the openings well. THAT’S ONLY RIGHT! But they don’t! Check out my other auctions for many more tin and other antique toys being listed! Extremely nice sheet steel and cast iron blue enameled Qualified Range Company wood burning stove. This was completely restored. This is a finely crafted stove that is steel plate with blue enamel and trimmed with nickle plated cast iron. Nice curved apron base with four nickel-plated legs and nickel bracketed back with rolled lid warming oven above! This toy is very heavy and measures an impressive 21″ tall x 12.75″ wide x 10 deep. It is a great scale and looks great with any miniatures or a doll standing next to it! It appeals to toy, salesman sample, doll and stove collectors alike! It appears to be complete with all doors, drawers, covers, knobs, and cast iron inserts, and shaker handle/lid lifter. Marked Qualified Range Co. It was completely restored at one time and has some replaced parts and screws. This was made to be used and there are cast iron inserts to create a heat shield within the stove surrounding the coals! A very nice stove being offered at no reserve! CONDITION: This toy displays in excellent condition. The previous owner had used the first one as a template to restore this one. One upper side appears that it may have been recasted, the back has a bend in the upper section as shown, there are some screws into the back and side that are not original, and the lower left drawer does not have any guides to hold it in place and I’m not sure if it is supposed to. A very fine antique stove that would make a great show piece for kitchen or family room. The Wehrle Stove Company, founded in 1883 in Newark Ohio, manufactured stoves under that name until 1936 when the name was changed to the Florence-Wehrle Co. It has a rarely seen warming tray on one of the cooking elements, see pictures. Even more rare, it includes the large flue pipe allowing connection to an external chimney. These flues were almost always never saved. Also includes ash bucket and long handled scrapper. Stove has been in my family for nearly 100 years. It was the main cooking stove for my Grandmother in her country home in New Hampshire and I have had it on display in my home for the last 35 years. CONDITION: Age related wear from use and the firebox is missing some elements. Minor rust around the oven as show in the photos. DIMENSIONS: 61″ high x 38″, width of stove top, x 29 deep. Oven is 17 wide, 12 tall, and 16 deep. Easily disassembled for transport but still bulky.
