Stove is from a family members log house just outside of New Albin Iowa… Wife remembers it well. We acquired the stove when we learned the house and farm were going to be auctioned off about 40 years ago. The body of the stove is heavy gauge rolled steel… There is a two inch round hole dead center and toward the bottom in the back… I had bolted a patch in place. The “firebrick” is worn out… See menards or commercial stove re-builders for fixes. There is a tool with it for removing the lid on the top and there is a homemade ash shovel too. THIS IS A ROUND OAK BRAND MODEL E-18 PARLOR STOVE. IT IS 64 INCHES TALL AND ABOUT 23 INCHES WIDE. WITH NEW ISINGLASS/ MICA IN THE DOOR. THE DOOR IS MARKED P. BECKWITH ROUND OAK AND THE FEET ARE ALSO MARKED ROUND OAK. IT HAS A GOOD STEEL BARREL AND CAST IRON BOWL. IT HAS A PARTIAL GRATE UNSURE IF IT IS CORRECT OR NOT BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER ROUND OAK THAT I HAVE. IT HAS A VERY FANCY CAST IRON FINIAL AND SWING TOP/ BONNET/TOPPER/ TROPHY (EVERYONE CALLS THEM SOMETHING DIFFERENT). NEEDS PAINT OR STOVE BLACK. Round Oak stove M16 from 1910. The finial represents Chief Doe-Wah-Jack on a beautiful authentic nickel plated swing top. The stove is in great shape, well maintained and stored. Never used, with all the original parts. There are two bolts missing from the doors and the belly plaques for this model M16, that I replaced with two foot rests from a Round oak C 16 model. This is a beautiful ornate 1906 Round Oak E18. Original black coloring is intact over the vast majority of the stove. The Round Oak Stove Company was founded in Dowagiac, Michigan in 1871 by P. Beckwith cast his first stove around 1867 to heat his struggling foundry and shortly after, the Michigan Central Railroad ordered the heaters for its depots between Detroit and Chicago.
