Rare Antique Brightest & Best Cast Iron Sad Iron Kerosene Heater Excellent. Here is a seldom seen Brightest & Best cast iron sad iron heater in excellent condition for the age with no cracks or chips. The black paint is nice and I believe to be original. It still has the two wicks and the brass adjusting knobs work as they should. The guides for the two wicks are brass. It still has the mica windows that swing out to light the wicks. There are no threads on the fuel tank opening so I don’t think it ever had a cap, I believe the cork in it is original. The top part comes off and I believe I got most of the soot cleaned off above the wicks but there could be a corner or two that I missed. This looks like it had little use and it would be hard to find one nicer than this. This measures about 8 1/2″ tall and the heating surface is about 6″ x 5 5/8. This is a little heavy at over 7 pounds boxed. Please see pictures for more detail as they are part of the description. I only sell to United States customers and only the lower 48 states.
