LOCATED 38 MILES SOUTH OF ROCHESTER NY. EXCELLENT COND CAST IRON WOOD BURNING STOVE, PAT DATE 1861, HAS HAD A MINOR REPAIR ON THE DOOR LATCH AND IS MISSING THE SLIDING PLATE AT THE BOTTOM WHICH IS THE ASH CLEAN OUT. THIS IS THE LARGER STOVE THIS COMPANY. RANSOM OF ALBANY NY MADE IN 2 SIZES. YOU CAN GOOGLE THIS COMPANY HISTORY ON LINE AND SEE OTHER MODELS THEY MADE. THIS STOVE WAS USED IN THE TOWN HALL WHERE ALL MEETINGS TOOK PLACE SINCE THE 1800’S. Dimensions are as follows…. Front to back 43″ total, width including feet is 24″, top of stove is 33 x 16, box is 27 x 14″, stove pipe is 6″, stove round lid is 9 and has a faux crack that really was cast into the lid. All solid, no weak areas. Stove needs stove putty where the box meets the base, there is evidence of old putty. One side looks ok but probably should be replaced with modern putty. Note in photo of door latch issue two screws in base for some reason, wood screws. Some of these photos i put wd 40 on a rag and did a quick dust off. It has seen no weather and has been in the same corner of my garage for about 50 years. Great old stove in excellent condition. A little care and stove blacking will be a beautiful show piece.
