Antique Mailbox One Antique Cast Iron mailbox manufactured by Reading Stove Works in Reading, PA. This box was patented in June 1889 and was manufactured by Reading Stove Works in 1899. The mailbox is cast iron and weighs approximately 45 lbs. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, Length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters. This mailbox has a crack on the front plate and a crack on the back. It has been spot welded by an iron worker to keep it from cracking anymore and is ready for further restoration. It has great potential as the letter door is unbroken and unrepaired. Hard to find without these being broken. This one swings open perfectly. As always there are no reserves on my auctions. The mailbox is cast iron and weighs approximately 45 lbs. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, Length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. Front corners of the mailbox have been brazed on ready to be glazed for painting or be refurbished. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters. Also in front is an original collection time from the Post Office in Oak View, CA. The set runs 6 thru 12 (i think). Griswold Erie quality casting. Very nice set to put together. The skillet appears to be in great shape. The skillet has a very slight movement on glass top stove. A nice cast iron tea kettle. Marked Orr Painter & Co Reading, PA on the lid and O & P Co 7 on the bottom. Looks to hold about a gallon or so. Measures about 8-1/2 inches across and 6 tall. Original Hours of Collection paper; has a side access door instead of a front one. Also has a small view window (above the current one) in the front that was the original Hours of Collection card location. Made by Reading Stove Works Co. It measures Height- 23 ¼ inches, Width- 13 ½ inches, and Depth 11 ¼ inches. The Box weighs 71 pounds. Paint chipping on corners on the front and left side of the mailbox. (see pictures for all flaws). Due to the size and weight, we are not able to package this item for less than the cost of having it professionally packaged.
