HTF Griswold #1003 DEEP Fat Fryer with bail no basket or lid. Grab it now as you may never find another one again! Made in the 1950s. Smooth bottom and cooking surface was not machined in the factory. There are no chips, cracks, break, etc. No outstanding problems to mention, there may be a casting flaw, utensil marks, scratches, dis-colorization, staining, etc. Here or there, which I believe adds a lot of character to the item. Has not been used since the restoration process. Photos were taken indoors in natural light and go a long way to help description. I’ve restored many of pieces of cast iron cookware. All go through lye bath to remove any crud, seasoning, etc. At least one round in the electrolysis tank, then they are scrubbed by hand using stainless steel pads, stainless steel brushes under cold water to the bare metal finish. All pieces are run through three rounds of seasoning using cooking oil. Cast iron cookware will last forever when taken care of. These are beautiful quality pieces made right here in the USA. They will have utensil marks and small scrapes and nicks. We try to point out any significant abnormalities or damage in our listings. When it is stated that the skillet is flat, it means that there is no bow, wobble or spin. It is very rare that a vintage cast iron will have absolutely no movement on a glass surface. Most were not perfect coming out of the foundry. There will likely be some small amount of movement on a flat surface. I don’t accept offers, thus the reason it is turned off.
