Wonderful vintage Cast Iron wood stove, Has a cooking top with removable plates. Can be fired with coal or wood, has shaker grate, cleanout doors, shovels, handles, ready to fire up. Not too large, Top is Approx. 27″ from back of 6″ flue outlet to front door. 22″ wide and tall with 8″ cast iron legs. Looks like this stove was designed for coal, with the front loading coal shute, but could also burn wood. Great looking pot belly stove. Weighs approx 100lbs, I can pick it up alone, but it would take two people to handle it comfortably. Legs come off for easy transport. I just noticed the red tint on the stove in the pictures, that is not rust, its the sunrise lighting this morning. The stove is a even flat black. I can emai better pictures if required. Pennsylvania Railroad Potbelly Caboose Stove Cast Iron Coal Wood Burning. FINIAL NOT INCLUDED AND IS LISTED SEPARATELY. There is some surface rust but it is in excellent condition for it’s age. All hinges grates and latches in working condition. We believe this was made by the Hamilton, OH Estate Stove Company. This particular stove is a combination cooking and heating stove which can be used either for coal or wood burning or as a decorative piece for your house. This stove was given as a gift to a local private school in the original caboose. Later, it was given as a gift to my mother (let’s be honest it was really for my father) who was a beloved Math teacher. It had been kept in the caboose until the caboose was repurposed as a classroom. Since then, it has been kept on our covered front patio on the stand as shown. The stove was oiled when it was delivered to our home and has just been cleaned (with appropriate Cast Iron cleaner: Caron Doucet Cast Iron Soap) and oiled (Caron Doucet Cast Iron Oil) recently. Just has a smaller crack near bottom from moving it but can easy fix thats why i have it priced lower that what one like this would sale for the 90 year old woman had it ever sence it was new many many years ago you will need to just get a handle to remove top plate when hot but i will look and try to get one they are very easy to find and if i fix the small crack in last picture i will list it for what one like these sale for around 450 it Has been cleaned. Size: 14″ wide x 26″ tall. A rare find in this condition. Great for a cabin, power outages or just cool decor.
