Vintage Martin No 9 cast iron skillet chicken fryer skillet in seasoned condition. The cooking surface has just a few light patches of etching from corrosion. The skillet is unusual as it has two casting anomalies or where the sand in the mold shifted. These are not cracks but just a sign of the times when these little issues were not important enough to be rejected by the QC department. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. Three sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of Pan. With the pan resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the pan searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the pan until pan stops moving. This item is from an old collection that was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light.
