This listing is for a vintage Lancaster Eagle cast iron mini oven/stove & multiple accessories. This thing is so cool! Stove comes with an assortment of mini pans. All pieces are pre-owned, so they do have typical wear from use, age and storage. Some of the detachable pieces to the stove are a little misshapen, so they might not sit/fit perfectly. This is mostly on the back vent/chimney pieces. One back leg is broken as well and it currently has tape on it. There is rusting, nicks, dings & a patina throughout. This is a large child’s Cast Iron toy/ Salesman Sample stove with a beautiful copper finish, cooking pots and a wonderful Tea Kettle. The model name on the stove is “Home”. It’s in the style of a J & E Stevens Co made stove. They made their stoves until 1880. Did they make a special edition? There is so much design work on this stove, and it’s in great condition. It is 16″ long and 15″ tall, 5 wide when set up. It weighs 12 pounds. The Tea Kettle is one you do not see often and very handsome as is the stove. I’d like to give an honorable mention to some of the features which include the six burners with their covers, the grates that will rotate to dump into the tin lined pan below, the drop down oven door, & the 3 sliding vents and damper for ventilation on the stove, the lifter…. & even has the attached stove pipe : This is an actual functioning / workable stove and more often than not these were used by little girls to learn to cook just like their mother. It is still in its amazing original condition & as I stated earlier… EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL on it. There is some nickel wear, and signs of normal use but the condition is still excellent. What a cute and heart warming piece. Here’s a chance to own a stove like great grandma…. Only in 1/16 the size, weight and work! These salesman sample cook stoves are so hard to find… Let alone in this condition. Measures 26-1/2 ” high with the top canopy & chimney x 17-1/4″ wide x 16-1/4 deep with front handles included. This is a large and fancy Royal antique cast iron toy stove. It measures about 11.5″ across since it is missing both side shelves and 15″ high to the top of the back removable stovepipe. It is about 7 deep. This very ornate stove has a lot of details. There are quite a few areas where there is oxidation but nothing is rusted through or has holes. It is missing both extension shelves on each side. Doors on the front of this stove open and it is very realistic with moving grates on the inside by twisting a metal tab. This was manufactured in the early 1900’s. It has a warming oven with hinged doors. Teapot shelves intact on back piece. Six burner covers and water reservoir cover are all original to this piece. This cast iron toy stove was made by the J. Stevens Company, in Cromwell, Connecticut sometime in the very early 1900’s, but if memory serves, this stove was built right around 1905. This was their “Royal” stove. I would consider this a medium sized stove as far as similar toys went. There were some very fancy larger stoves, but as far as details, and being ornate, I don’t think you’ll ever find another one as detailed as this! It’s quite incredible, perhaps even over the top for some, but I love it. Not one square inch aside from perhaps the back of the chimney pipe isn’t detailed. I think my photo’s are a good representation, though it’s hard to get good photo’s simply because of the reflections. This is an older restoration, but still gorgeous. This comes from a Non smoking home out of my personal collection. I might also mention, the shelf tabs are all intact and solid. The stove measures 14″ across, 11-3/4″ tall, and 6-1/2 front to back. Weighs over 9 pounds, that’s quite heavy fora child’s toy! Opinions vary on the old stoves on what exactly they were built for. Some folks call them toys, some insist they were salesman samples. I’ve never understood the argument to favor one way or the other when the likelihood exists that they were used as both. I can’t pretend to know this for a fact, but my guess is this would have been one of the better gifts that a little girl could have ever received back in those days, probably every bit the equivalent to a little boys Lionel Train set!
