The paint is chipped all around. The mounting bracket is not attached. It does not have the mate for the mounting bracket, so the mounting hardware is not complete. Antique US Postal Mailbox, Cast Iron, Danville PA Stove & MFC CO, 1927 WITH KEY. This solid beautiful mailbox has just undergone a complete fresh restoration. These cool mailboxes were painted olive drab green up until 1955. We decided to put it back original color for a unique look rather than the red/white/blue. It was blasted cleaned and painted with automotive grade paint and clear to give that lasting finish. All of the gold lettering was hand done under the clear. We finished it off with a new lock and key set like the originals and reproduced the collection tag. I have not seen a cleaner looking restoration on one of these cool mailboxes. It is marked Danville Stove & Mfg Co. It has the collectible Beaver Emblem on each side. It is in good used condition, with no holes or cracks, just normal paint age wear. The original mounting bracket is still on the back. There is no locking mechanism inside and no key. The size is 24 inches high, by 15 1/4 inches wide by 10 inches deep. One Antique Cast Iron Reading Stove Works Reading PA late 1889 mailbox. This box was patented in June 1889 and manufactured by Reading Stove Works in Pennsylvania. The mailbox is cast iron and weighs approximately 45 lbs. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, Length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. Front corners of the mailbox have been brazed on ready to be glazed for painting or be refurbished. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters.
