This is a wonderful old child’s size or salesman sample size, cast iron stove. It is marked Charter Oak No. One is a waffle maker, The stove would actually work as it was a copy of the larger ones that mom bought. There are 6 little doors. There is a large door on the front that opens and a large door on the back that opens. Not sure why, maybe it was used as a display piece for the larger stoves. The small door on the front opens, but the small one on the back does not, it is just simulated. There are 3 doors on the end that open, (to clean out the ash I suppose)The stove has no damage or repairs, but one of the trivets on the top is a replacement, can only tell because the lifter hole is smaller. The stove measures about 14 inches tall and is about 20 inches long and about 11 inches deep. Pretty heavy, weighs about 30 lbs. 8/15/18 – The doors and legs have been nickle plated for display, the last picture was the before. ANTIQUE 1910 KENTON TOYS MINIATURE CAST IRON & STEEL CHILDS TOY COOK STOVE GREEN. This is the antique toy version of the old wood burning cast iron cooking stoves that were used to cook meals and warm the house. This one is by Kenton Hardware Co. In Kenton, Ohio founded by F. Known worldwide for their toys, the Kenton Hardware Company was promoted as “the largest factory in the USA exclusively making cast iron toys” at the turn of the 20th century. The factory produced a variety of toys that were miniature versions of fire engines, circus wagons, carriages, banks, trains and stoves. This antique green KENTON VENUS stove was made right around 1910 of steel and cast iron. It has all 4 burner lids or covers and also includes a lid lifter to remove them. It has a beautifully decorated opening main oven door as well as a removable ornate side extension. The stove displays very well & is in wonderful condition with some age related rust spots that give it an amazing old original antique look. Description: Up for sale is a Vintage Crescent Cast Iron Miniature Salesman’s Sample / Child’s Toy Wood Cook Stove. This has the main body that has front opening door marked Crescent and the following 9 cast iron pieces – 2 side shelves, top shelf, top stove pipe (metal). 4 burner covers, & grill cover. Measurements: The approximate measurements are 9″ (13″ including both shelves) across x 6″ back to front x 11 3/4″ tall. Condition: This is in good condition. There are no cracks in the cast iron. It appears that all pieces for the stove are here. There is some rust, but mostly nice finish. Good detail on the legs, door, and top. The items are described as accurately as possible based upon information that I have available. VINTAGE ROYAL CAST IRON SALESMAN SAMPLE OR CHILDS TOY STOVE MINIATURE COOK STOVE. Old fancy stove with embossed decorations. The front of the door says it is a Royal brand. The extension piece on the left side has a fancy pattern with the “Royal” logo and is removable as are the lids. The right side extension is also removable. The size is 9 high (the chimney). The real ones are almost impossible to find. You can tell the reproductions because the do not have the Makers mark and Dolly stamped on the side. Reproductions have the doors attached by screws. Yes, I did my research a little late, but found the reproductions do have value. This one has very nice nickel plating on legs, doors, and upper shelf – more than most reproductions. There is on round stove plate missing. There is a decorative round silver piece that actually came with the stove (see pictures) that I put in the hole. The may be a small door flap on bottom side were wood would go missing – I do not know and do not think this takes away anything – but must mention it. Stove is Massive – 60 pounds – 18 x 27 x11. This includes the smoke stack (not on most) for height. I believe in honesty and see so many list not mentioning they a reproductions, if they did their homework they would learn they still have some value – still I spent too much on this pick – live and learn. CRESCENT Childs Cast Iron Pot Belly Stove Vintage. An old miniature cast iron pot belly stove with a miniature pan, coal bucket and 2 pots. In good condition, has some scratches and discoloration from age and needs cleaning. Measures 5.0″ x 6.0″ x 6.0 and weighs 4.5 pounds. American foundries began producing cast-iron toy stoves in the 1840s. After the Second World War, however, the production of miniatures had all but stopped, replaced with more modern ranges made of tin or plastic. Manufacturers instead offered reproductions of the earlier cast-iron models, with collectors, rather than children, in mind. In the 1950s, the Grey Iron Casting Company of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, used the original foundry patterns for its Crescent and Queen toy stoves to create large quantities of reproduction cast-iron toy stoves. Because the company used the same molds, the reproductions resemble the originals in nearly every detail. However, original Crescent ranges typically came nickel-plated, enameled, or with a copper or nickel finish. This stove, however, has the painted black finish typical of 1950s reproductions.
