RARE LATE 19TH CENTURY VINTAGE QUEEN VICTORIA’DIAMOND JUBILEE (UK) 1837-97,’ CAST IRON /HOLLOW BRASS BALL & ROD/ DECORATIVE CERAMIC TILE. 20 ½” Length x 7 ¾” Height x 5 ¼ Depth. Only one original ceramic tile has a hairline crack running horizontally through it. It’s the tile on the left and the other 4 tiles remain in splendid, unblemished condition. The cast iron decorative fence is embellished with a hollow brass ball and rod upper railing system. The tops of the hollow brass balls exhibit some dents, dings and abrasions. This is not fatal or very noticeable but evidence that this nearly 120 year-old British Victorian’Diamond Jubilee’ (circa 1897) ceramic tile/cast iron and hollow brass ball and tube railed fence, was used and used often. It remains in what would have to be considered to be in very good to excellent overall vintage condition. The highly decorative Victorian cast iron fence is complete and in three sections fastened together. The ceramic tiles depicting Queen Victoria are simply exquisite and are extremely detailed. Exceptional and very rare. Good to Very Good overall vintage condition. Please scroll down to view enlarged photos below.
