It is a wood/coal stove, painted in a pretty teal blue, with top stand, and chimney plus an iron, trivet and handled pot. Doors are nickel plated and all intact, with great embossed decorations: we especially like the stylized acanthus seen on so many Victorian era furniture, picture frames, porcelain, etc seen on doors. We believe this little stove is actually a Salesman Sample for the Abram Cox Stove Co that appears to have been in operation through the early 1900’s. It is too well made to be a toy although alot of these miniature stoves are used for antique doll rooms. To find a link to their cataloged sale. This stove is very complete, to include the wood grate in left firebox which is why we think it’s a salesman’s sample and not just a toy. All assembled, stands 11″ tall to top of shelf 8 3/8″ long 6 inches deep. Total including smoke stack / chimney pipe extends to 14 tall overall. This stove was apparently tested by someone along the way, setting a fire in the left firebox, which caused the discoloration of the left side exterior paint. The underside of the cook top is blackened as is the left inside of the stove wall. Some kid wanted to see if it really worked. Not uncommon with these models of cast iron stoves.
