Antique Art Garland #58 Cast Iron Gas/Propane Parlor Stove Works Great Will Ship
This is an antique cast iron. With chrome or nickel plated accent pieces. Made by Art Garland in Detroit. This was restored by my client. N excellent working condition and comes with extra mica for windows if needed. Measures 75″ high 27″wide and 24 deep. Was originally a coal burning stove and now runs on natural gas or propane. There are a couple minor issues I’d like to point out. Please look at my photos. There is a crack in the back near a screw and also of the finial has a crack and a dent on one side. The other minor issue is the stir mechanism does not turn. It may be stripped. The is a mute point for a gas burner but I wanted you to know about it. It will come apart to transport. Mt Penn Stove Works Express 22 B cast iron pot belly stove, great restored condition, looks to be original handles, custom feet not original, handle on the side is not original. This unique stove was once used in the Lancaster City Post Office back in the 1940’s. This same model stove was in an episode of The Little House on the Prairie being put together in the Oleson’s Mercantile (General Store). This Americana conversational piece has great charm and beauty. The Mt Penn Stove is stamped with original cast markings. Very rare Stove to find anywhere. This is a larger coal/ wood stove often used in general stores and sometimes larger cabooses. It was made by the Excelsior Stove Works / I. This stove dates from the late 19. The stove measures 45 inches high, 20 in depth and 27 wide. Most of the parts are marked with PFR 17. The cast iron body with decorative rope surround with gilt details with further gilt decoration, raised on four legs. There is some old plastic on the cover (no glass) and on the bottom grate is missing the hinge pins but can be easily replaced. The stove came from an old estate in central PA. It has a lot of age to it and just needs a good cleaning. It makes for a great entertaining piece and is very hard to find. This item comes as is so please see pictures for more details. This listing is for the well known Royal Esther model from Mt Penn Stove Works pictured above. It measures about 16″ long by 16″ high. The top shelf and the piece of cast iron that is attached to are pretty loose, so some screws may need tightening. For being 100+ years old it is in nice shape. There is some discoloration/rust on the stovetop and the back of the stove. All cabinets properly open and close. All stove covers are present. There are NO accessories (pots and pans).
