We have a beautiful antique / vintage wood burning cast iron parlor, pot belly type, stove made by by The Howard Stove Works of Ralston Nebraska. This stove was formerly a coal burning stove that was converted into a wood burning stove quite awhile before we owned it. It has been recently reconditioned and not used it since. It has all of it’s original parts including the unique mica window panes in the door. The original cast iron metal trim was nickel plated and it can be re-plated if you wish to have it done, but we painted it gold just because we like the way looks and we had had it that way when we were using it. Stove black is fresh too. Top piece with finial on top moves to the side so that stove can be used to cook a small portion of food or heat a cast iron tea pot for humidity. Also, this stove can be filled with wood from the top as well as the front. We live in northwestern Montana where the winters are harsh and this handsome stove has worked well for us for many years. However, we decided to get a bit bigger wood stove because we added a large family room onto our house. We hate to sell such a treasure that’s been part of our lives for so long, but we just don’t need it any longer. This stove works best with 14 long split wood pieces or small logs. Measurements for this stove are as follows. This beautiful stove will get you plenty of compliments whether you use it for heat or just have it in your home for decoration. The set is the “grape” pattern. It’s circa 1950’s. The set has 4 pieces: 2 chairs, a love seat, and a small table. We recently repainted the set. Couple thing I would note about the set: 1 we had to repair/ replace one of the chair leg bolts. The cast iron seems to have weathered very well. Some of the bolts holding it together have not done as good. It’s possible more bolts should/ will need to be replaced in the near future. 2 A piece of the seat of the love seat has a plate repairing it (it’s underneath and not readily apparent). One of the legs of the table has a plate on the inside repairing it. The set as-is looks beautiful and would make any outdoor space unique with its addition. Approximately Built in the mid 1800 this stove is in great shape! Been in my house when we bought it 40 years ago never been hooked up. C’mon folks, 1159 hits – somebody offer something… I believe this is what is called a “Laundry Stove” – Reason being an oblong copper tub was used with a washboard to do laundry. The copper tub filled with water was placed on the stove across the two burner plates. STOVE MEASURES 19-3/4 h X 13-3/4 DEEP X 18-3/4 WIDE, LEGS ARE 15 ON CENTER FOOT TO FOOT. The outside dimensions of the oval opening to the flue pipe are: 7-5/8″ x 3-5/8″. I’m sorry, but I can’t locate the 6 flue pipe elbow shown in one of the photos – I do have the Damper that gets installed in the Pipe. Ask questions, request additional pics – Ill respond ASAP. Penn Royal Esther Salesman Sample Stove Complete. Penn Royal Esther salesman sample stove oven. Penn company was from Reading Pennsylvania they made stoves and heaters. Went out of business in 1930’s. Made of cast iron and nickel. Complete with some original accessories that are hard to find and original to stove. Frying pan, bucket, bake sheet, and stack for stove pipe. All moving parts are working. I have not cleaned this in any way. Stove measures: 18″ long, 8 3/4″ depth, height with stack 26″, height without stack 16″. Stack can be removed. All pics in natural light. Stove has some rust here and there. Stove sits on silver cast iron base. Doors open and close. Great piece of Americana. Very solid and heavy. View closely and enlarge. Surely would be a highlight to any collection.
