Vintage mid-century Foster Stove Co No 8 deep cast iron chicken fryer skillet in restored condition. Cooking surface has a few utensil scores and fine patches of fine etching from corrosion and a few pits. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. Six sheets of printer paper slipped under one side of the pan stops movement on a polished granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of item. With the item resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until item stops moving. This item is from an old collection that was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light.
