Antique Mailbox One Antique Cast Iron mailbox manufactured by Reading Stove Works in Reading, PA. This box was patented in June 1889 and was manufactured by Reading Stove Works in 1899. The mailbox is cast iron and weighs approximately 45 lbs. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, Length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters. This mailbox has a crack on the front plate and a crack on the back. It has been spot welded by an iron worker to keep it from cracking anymore and is ready for further restoration. It has great potential as the letter door is unbroken and unrepaired. Hard to find without these being broken. This one swings open perfectly. As always there are no reserves on my auctions.
