Antique Gas Parlor Heater Ornate Filigree Cast Iron w Glass Jewels
An antique 4-jeweled gas parlor heater from the late19th to early 20th century. The pretty, ornamental top and bottom sections are made of heavy cast iron. The four vertical pipes are a thinner metal and the four jewels on the front, which would glow when the heater was lit, are made of glass. The shut-off valve appears to be brass. It opens and closes easily and appears to work fine although it has not been tested in any way. The overall condition of the heater is good. There is no apparent damage. It shows signs of normal wear for it’s ageand the top and bottom cast iron sections appear to have been plated or chromed which is worn and the front cover plate, which would have carried the name of the heater is missing. It measures about 13″ wide x 6″ deep x 18 tall. Please see the photos for details. One Antique Cast Iron Reading Stove Works Reading PA late 1889 mailbox. This box was patented in June 1889 and manufactured by Reading Stove Works in Pennsylvania. The mailbox is cast iron and weighs approximately 45 lbs. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, Length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. Front corners of the mailbox have been brazed on ready to be glazed for painting or be refurbished. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters.
