Rare c. 1890's CRESCENT No. 40 KEROSENE HEATER-Cooker ORNATE CAST IRON
This is a rare antique kerosene HEATER. It could also be used to warm-up or cook food on the top burner plate. It’s a CRESCENT No. 40 and dates to the 1890’s. It stands 24 tall and weighs 17 pounds. The flame spreader on the burner has several patent dates with 1892 being the latest. The four footed Base, Center Ring and Chimney Flange, along with the top Grate and Logo escutcheon are heavy Cast Iron and very ornate. The Chimney is sheet steel but heavier than the later Perfections used. The lower 5 of the Chimney is reticulated with open spaces and there’s clear MICA lining behind it that allows light from the Burner to show through and create quite a light show. The brass Fount is unusual and quite large. It has a usable wick in place. The Fount has seen some solder repairs of stress cracks that are common on old brass founts and it doesn’t leak. Rare Germer “Radiant Home No 16 M Force Draft” Cast Iron Parlor Heating Stove – Erie Pennsylvania. This is a rare stove. About 5 ft height when fully assembled on the base. Very heavy, I would guess weighs around 400 lbs. It is in storage so the current pics don’t do it any justice but it is a statement piece. Would be great as a centerpiece in the great room of a log cabin, rental, etc. Made around late 1890’s to early 1910’s. The trim pieces appear to have been painted silver and were probably nickel plated at one time. There is a little rust here and there but nothing major, mainly just needs cleaning. It would take some touch-up and restoration work if you want it to look perfect but displays very nicely as-is. Model No 16 M. American (Erie, Pennsylvania), late 19th-early 20th century. A cast iron parlor stove by Germer Stove Co. Having an urn-form finial, with mica windows and subtle Art Nouveau decorative motifs, monogrammed. Includes pipe and tools; ht. This INCREDIBLE piece was manufactured by and marked Abendroth Brothers NY. It is made from Heavy cast iron, with stunning floral embossed detailing on the sides and legs (which are removable). There are four burners, ogre shaped edging, there are opening doors on tree sides, the back is embellished with an ornate crest. Compare with many other examples of similar salesman samples for this company this one is much more detailed/ornate, still remains original nickel finish.. I bought this coal/wood stove at an antique store in Munich, Germany in the 1980s Although I never used it, it probably works as an oven. I just loved it as an antique and decoration piece. It is from the late 19th century Brand: Swoboda The words “Turen Schliessen” = close the door, are engraved There are two compartments that open. The lower one catches the ashes. I had it next to my chimney as decoration. Size: 12.5″ X 12″ on top. I think it weighs around 50-60 pounds. Two people can carry it. Rare and beautiful piece.. Huge salesman sample stove measures approx 18.5″ x 11″ X 23″ tall (measures 32″ to top of stove pipe). Stove is in fantastic condition with no cracks or breaks. Does have a few small spots of rust on side door. Includes all lids, doors and grates. Also includes 3 Wagner cast iron cookware and 1 Griswald pan. This is an original stove and not a new casting. Here’s an early antique ornate cast iron parlor heating stove from the 1890s Victorian Era…… 40tall with original heavy iron ring handles on sides and finial dome top! I’m not sure if the cast iron dome top is original to this stove or not? …. It is embossed 319 & 321 & 323 GER HEA 1914 PC. 29 on the top inside of dome. It has a vented handle for lifting it while hot, but there are no vent holes. It fits onto the top though and looks great. I feel like it may have been “married” expertly to this stove but I just dont know for sure? The two piece cast iron base seems to be older from the 1890s is embossed CENTRAL OILGAS STOVE CO PATENTED OTHERS PDG on one leg….. One leg was broken off and repaired expertly with a piece of metal that looks very similar to other 3 original legs. It is very sturdy and painted black with rough texture to blend in nicely. The bottom two pieces of stove measure 25tall….. Fancy decorated with a lot of vent holes for heat to escape. The inside has 4 little ledges which must have held the oil gas heater, which is missing. I see no other damage other than the leg I mentioned. This is an original antique iron stove made in the 1890s, with the dome top probably made later in 1914? You will have to either pick it up in Hillsboro, Illinois…. We do make trips to the east coast and to the South so may be able to work something out. THIS IS A FIXED PRICE STOVE FOR SALE IN MY STORE. I bought this coal/wood stove at an antique store in Munich, Germany in the 1980s Although I never used it, it probably works as an oven. I just loved it as an antique and decoration piece. It is from the late 19th century Brand: Swoboda The words “Turen Schliessen” = close the door, are engraved There are two compartments that open. The lower one catches the ashes. I had it next to my chimney as decoration. Downsizing and moving soon, so I need to part with it. I think it weighs around 50-60 pounds. Two people can carry it. Rare and beautiful piece..
