This vintage Griswold Manufacturing Co. Four-paddle cast iron french waffle maker, with spiderweb pattern, has capacity to cook eight waffles simultaneously which is very RARE! I’ve seen numerous Griswold french waffle irons with one, two or four waffle designs but none like this one which has capacity for eight. Griswold Manufacturing was in business from 1865 through 1957. It had a world-wide reputation for high quality cast iron cook ware and very prolific in the latter 19th century and made a lot of cast iron french waffle makers and other cookware in its Erie, Pa facilities. This item shows a patent date of June 29, 1880. Today Griswold peices are highly collectable. This waffle maker has not been restored or seasoned, only cleaned, and is in very good condition. The lifting ring is missing on one side, and there is one barely detectable crack through one of the cross members, as shown in one of the pictures, but this does not affect function, nor does it create any “wiggle” or movement in the piece. The base of the waffle maker is approximately 21″ long, 10″ wide and about 3 tall as seen in the photos. It weighs 20 lbs. We will be happy to answer any questions so please ask! From an estate sale. Lady Franklin cast iron parlor stove. Made by The Akron stove co. This stove was repainted at some point in its life, it’s done very nicely. I’m not sure if this is an original or a vintage reproduction. I believe it to be original, it has parts held together with hand hammered rivets. I can’t find anything about it anywhere online. The closest thing I can find to it is a lady Washington stove patented in 1848 by the Anthony, Davy and co. It looks very close to this one. This is truly a very ornate and beautiful parlor stove. The stove is complete with the front draft cover and cover for the clean out. Unlike many of Ransom’s stoves this one has four legs and the model is “Air Tight”. It comes with the section of pipe shown in the pictures. It should be gone over by someone who knows stoves prior to lighting a fire in it. There are a few spots on the sides near the joints that look thin to me from 170 years of use. The fire box measures approximately 8″ by 18 1/2″. Counting the trim and the legs (which are easily removed) it measures approximately 15″ by 28 3/4″ by 27 1/2 tall.
