Rare – This is a Cast Iron thermometer, sundial type piece, made by The Foundry Of The Shoals in Florence Alabama in the early 1990s and given to employees as a Christmas gift. Every year at Christmas, the Foundry would make an iron item for its small group of less than 100 employees. Foundry Of The Shoals (FOS) made castings in the same building as the Martin Stove & Range Foundry that closed in the 1950s. The first few years that the Foundry made the Christmas gifts for employees, they were not dated. This is in excellent condition and measures about 7 7/8 inches diameter & is about 1/4 inches thick. Nice antique Stove & Range Co pot belly stove. The stove is also stamped “SHEFFIELD AL” On opposite side. On top it is marked NO. The four feet slide on and off smoothly and when attached the stove stands nice and secure. I believe the top is missing the covers/grill but I believe those parts can be replaced sine I see them every now and then. The top cover has a Fleur De Lis stamp that can be opened and closed. The bottom lid can also open up and there is a metal tab that can be pulled out a bit I believe this is for cleaning purposes. The inner parts show some normal rusting on the surface but it is all very solid. I have not weighed it but it feels about 70 pounds. Height is about 26 and 12 wide and a bit more around the feet.
