Antique cast iron woodstove / wood stove teapot or kettle. The lid is marked S. 1869 0-25, kettle is marked Troy N. Has a hand forged handle. It is coated black japanning or paint on the outside. Inside is dirty with water stains. The mark is for Stephan Spoor’s Stove Furniture and was made by the Foxell & Jones foundry in Troy NY. Size from spout end to pot back is 9 1/2″ x 7″ wide x 6 1/2 tall. It weighs 5 pounds 4 ounces. Small chip or factory imperfection on the edge of the lid rim “see last two photos”.

Cast Iron Parlor Wood Stove by Ransom & Son Albany New York patented 1880. Actually marked Signet Airtight probably for that time it was.. It has an 18×24-in base the footprint from the legs is probably a little bit larger. The front has sliding doors so you can view the fire also below the doors is the sliding damper where you can regulate the airflow when the doors are closed. The side door is 9 x 5- 3/4 opening. The fire box is approximately 8 in x 12 in x 16 in. With the finial included it is 34 in high without the finial it is 26 in high to the open top. It shows a 5-in diameter pipe exhaust. The finial had four swirly sections underneath the water holder one of them is broken off if you compare two photos you can see that. Just face that top part with a missing section toward the back wall and no one will ever know. There is another section of swirly cast iron that is broken off the wiring is holding this together I didn’t know what that wiring was for until I took a really close look that can be put together with JB weld. This weighs in the neighborhood of 50 or 60 lb my guess. Lightly wire brush the stove a bit and on a cool afternoon put Ransom stove polish on and almost immediately after it dries you can buff it off and this thing will look amazing. There are no cracks or chips in the body or the legs or the top of this item except for that one broken part mentioned. It actually does not appear to have been used very much. I have a little store in Morrisville PA 19067. Open by appointment only and certain weekends (openings posted on my store’s website). You can also see pictures of what I have for sale on FaceBook under “Yardley Antiques”. Marked Newberry, Filley & Co, Chapel parlor patented 1856. This one is from my own personal collection and I’m currently using it as a candle display. There are double doors on the front that can be opened or closed and it comes with the pipe in. I have a little store in Morrisville PA 19067. Open by appointment only and certain weekends (openings posted on my store’s website). You can also see pictures of what I have for sale on FaceBook under “Yardley Antiques”. Marked Newberry, Filley & Co, Chapel parlor patented 1856. This one is from my own personal collection and I’m currently using it as a candle display. There are double doors on the front that can be opened or closed and it comes with the pipe in. The back to attach to the wall chimney (not pictured, but included and same color red). Please see all the pictures and use them as part of the description. Sorry, NO personal checks (no exceptions). This might sound weird, but I’ve had too many people. Leave pieces at my store too long…. I need to make room for “new” antique inventory asap!
