This Chambers stove uses very little gas compared to standard gas stoves which makes it more energy efficient. It is remarkable in its capacity to continue cooking with the gas turned off. This is because the oven is completely insulated on top, bottom, front, back, and sides. In addition, this stove contains a completely insulated “Thermowell” which, like the stove, itself, saves gas and labor. On the left side is a broiler with a broiler pan which can be used for broiling vegetables and meat, and toasting several slices of bread. Included with the sale of this oven is an original eighty page Idle Hour Cook Book WITH THE GAS TURNED OFF! See photos of the cook book in this listing. These photos contain much of the cook book’s basic information and detailed cooking directions. The cook book includes cooking times for a number of recipes, including desserts and even a recipe for ice cream that can be frozen in the stove’s thermowell. The stove is 37 high and 27 ½ inches deep. The stove body is 35″ high with the folding cover extending the height at the back of the stove to 46 ½ “. The stove hood is 35 ¾ wide.

These stoves were made to heat and throw light this one has Isen glass windows or material behind the metal you can see it behind the circular holes in the pictures. I was told that this is a working unit you have to know what you’re doing and add kerosene and adjust the wick correctly. And light It up. I would do so outside until you get used to this particular setup. It’s about the same size as any of the Perfection brand stoves that are also kerosene heaters. Serious offer seriously considered.

This stove features three burners, a griddle top with the broiler located conveniently underneath, an oven with two racks, and “The well” which is actually another burner recessed into the top of the stove on the back right — it’s actually a precursor to the crock pot. Use it like a crock pot for slow cooking a meal. This stove is an absolutely gorgeous design and cooks very well. I especially love the convenience of the broiler on the top of the stove, located underneath the griddle top. The oven has a unique feature — it “cooks with the oven off”. Because it is so well insulated he oven has a unique feature it “cooks with the oven off” and is extremely energy efficient. You can turn off the oven a little over halfway through cooking a chicken or a roast and the oven will retain the heat so well it will continue cooking.
