I believe this is made out of a mixture of cast-iron and aluminum. This came from a retired bell system lineman worker. I believe these were made for melting lead. This is one of the nicer Griswold pieces I’ve had in 40 years-having everything from 13 to Spiders. Great shape- level and clean. The lid has script only underneath, as I forgot the top pic.
