1920’S UNION LADY GAS STOVE – EXTREMELY RARE!! STILL FUNCTIONAL FAMILY HEIRLOOM! GREAT GRANDMA WAS A UNION GAS LADY!! ORIGINAL CONDITION, UNREFURBISHED, MUSEUM READY. ALL THE ORIGINAL PIPING AND FITTINGS ARE STILL ON THE STOVE WIT NO LEAKS!! NOTICE THE WIDTH, AS IT WAS NOT NOT VERY WIDE. THE REASON FOR THIS WAS SO THAT IT FIT ERGONOMICALLY IN THE APARTMENTS AND SMALL HOMES FOUND IN INNER CITIES DURING THAT TIME FRAME. “Union lady” relates to the pioneering “Home Service” demonstrators and female home economists who traveled to teach women how to use the new gas stoves. When gas stoves first hit the market, many homemakers were terrified of GAS explosions and didn’t know how to cook with controlled gas. To sell more gas appliances, utility companies hired female home economists, dietitians, and instructors-often called “gas ladies” or home service directors. My Great Grandmother, Julia Strba, was a “Union Gas Lady” providing demonstrations in the New York City/North Jersey area! The family was poor, this was the only way for them to procure a gas stove. This Union Lady stove is one of the original stoves to be used for demonstrations, as there is no pilot light or regulator. There is no model number for this stove, as it was never meant to be mass produced. THE STOVE TOP IS STILL COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL, AND YOU CAN COOK ON IT, AS I’VE FITTED IT WITH A PROPANE.

This is a 1930 ROMEAGLE LADY WOOD BURNING STOVE AND OVEN, included is complete chimney system with 10 foot stainless steel double wall pipe, 6 foot single wall pipe with brackets for side wall mounting. The Stove and a pipe are in good shape. It does have a few blemishes but consider being 95 years old, being heated to up to 600° and having cast-iron pots and pans gracing it top. Not only has it acted as a wood-burning stove in the oven and also heated 50% of my 1600 ft. It’s a great product for restoration projects, rustic kitchens and those living off grid. There’s been a few times when the power was off for an extended period of time in the winter that I survived by cooking and heating my lodge.

Rare cast iron pan in great shape. Won’t take much to restore. Has slight carbon buildup. For sale as is as shown in photos. Zoom in on photos for condition. The “Statue of Liberty” cast iron pan is from American Brass and Iron (AB&I) and is part of its American Cookware line. It is an “Omelette Pan” with the Statue of Liberty design on the bottom, produced by the foundry in Oakland, California, likely in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Product Line: American Cookware. Design: Statue of Liberty on the bottom of the pan. Approximate Production Time: Late 1970s to early 1980s. Other collectible AB&I designs: Other designs in the American Cookware series included the Liberty Bell, Covered Wagon, Riverboat, and Old Ironsides, among others, with specific designs often corresponding to a particular size or style of pan.

From an estate sale. Lady Franklin cast iron parlor stove. Made by The Akron stove co. This stove was repainted at some point in its life, it’s done very nicely. I’m not sure if this is an original or a vintage reproduction. I believe it to be original, it has parts held together with hand hammered rivets. I can’t find anything about it anywhere online. The closest thing I can find to it is a lady Washington stove patented in 1848 by the Anthony, Davy and co. It looks very close to this one. This is truly a very ornate and beautiful parlor stove. 1848 Anthony, Davy, & Co. RARE Antique Cast Iron Lady Washington Parlor Stove. A wonderful piece of Victorian history! Unrestored museum quality treasure! This can be proudly displayed – identical to the parlor stove at the Shiloh Museum in Springdale, Arkansas (except this has the top finial)! As pictured and not attempted to be cleaned or restored in any way. Overall measurements: 27″ W x 18″ D x 34 H to top of finial. Approximate weight 70 pounds. For 170 years old (1848 Patent date), the inside of this stove looks to have been rarely if ever burnt and features what appears to be a homemade grate. This grate may not be original to the stove. Additional Information from the Shiloh Museum website. This is a “Lady Washington” parlor stove. The stovetop carries the name of the manufacturerAnthony, Davy, and Co. Troy, New Yorkalong with a patent date of 1848. According to Tammis K. Groft of the Albany Institute of Art, Cast-iron stovemaking reached its highest artistic achievement and technological advancements between 1840 and 1870. Troy, New York was home to many cast-iron stove manufacturers in the 1800s. As Groft points out, Troy’s location on the banks of the Hudson River afforded easy and inexpensive transportation of raw materials to the foundries and finished stoves to worldwide markets.
