Defiant Encore by Vermont Castings wood burning stove 1986 in a beautiful “Bordeaux Enamel” red. This is their top of the line stove. Still burns strong and is currently hooked up. Catalyst has not been changed recently, but works with or without the catalyst in place. Has some cast iron deterioration at the intake to the catalyst, but the external red enamel coated cast iron is in good condition with almost no major exterior blemishes. Their is a small 2 patch that is chipping, but you can only see if you stick your head behind the stove. The wood grate is warped and cracked, but this does not affect the stove’s functionality. No cracks in the front glass. Unit measures approx 27″ wide, 25″ tall, and has a depth of about 23. Left handle operates the catalyst, while right side handle allows control of temp/combustion. Features top load or front load wood (up to 18 long), swing-out ash pan, and cast iron griddle top for cooking. Produces about 47,000 BTUs per hour and heats the whole lower floor (1000sq) of our home. I will answer any questions as soon as possible. I work hard to have great feedback.
