Antique 1890s Peninsular Stove Co. Log Cabin Cast Iron Parlor Stove Detroit

For sale is an authentic Peninsular Stove Co. “Log Cabin” cast-iron parlor/box stove, manufactured in Detroit, Michigan in the late 1800s to early 1900s. This beautifully crafted piece features ornate Victorian-era scrollwork, a front door marked 1882 (pattern/model date), and decorative cast legs. Peninsular was one of America’s major 19th-century stove makers, and their “Log Cabin” line is harder to find than their more common “Oak” or parlor models. This stove is ideal for collectors, restorers, historical reenactors, cabin owners, or anyone looking for an eye-catching antique decorative piece. With cleaning and seasoning, it can also be restored to functional condition. Maker: Peninsular Stove Company, Detroit, Michigan. Model: “Log Cabin” (size 25). Material: Solid cast iron. Ornate embossed detailing on front and side panels. Front feed door with Victorian relief and “1882” pattern. Top-loading round burner plate with flue collar. Shaker grate and ash cleanout area visible inside. Great piece for restoration or display. This stove is in as-found antique condition with surface rust, dust, and typical age wear, but no major cracks or structural damage observed. The ornate panels and embossed details are all intact. Hinges and hardware appear complete. This piece has been stored indoors and is an excellent candidate for restoration. Please examine all photos carefully – additional pictures available upon request. With cleaning, seasoning, and paint, these stoves restore beautifully. A wonderful piece of American industrial history, perfect for display in a cabin, lodge, farmhouse, museum, or antique collection. Rare model – not often seen in this condition today.
