This is a BS&R cast iron grill produced under the “Century” line, likely from the 1950’s-60’s. The cooking surface measures 17.5″ X 13″, giving an idea of the overall dimensions of this unit. This would have originally been put on a stand (not included). It is rusty overall, in need of a good cleaning and restoration. It does appear to be fully operable, the top vent and bottom door open and close just fine. There is one crack that I found near the bottom nameplate door as pictured.

Old BSR #9 Griddle, there are no cracks, breaks, etc. There is some light etching / micro rash here & there, but nothing terrible. Other than that, used / loved, so could be scratches, other casting flaws, etc. Has not been used since the restoration process. Has little to no movement on a hard/ level/ flat surface. Pictures were taken outside in natural light and are a big part of the description. Cleaned / seasoned / ready to cook. Don’t see these too often. I’ve restored hundreds of pieces of cast iron cookware. All go through lye to remove any crud, organic material, seasoning, etc. Then I run them through the electrolysis process to remove any corrosion, rust, impurities, etc. They are scrubbed by hand using dish liquid, stainless steel scouring pads, stainless steel brushes, and magic erasers under cold water to bring them back to the bare metal finish. Finally, all pieces are run through three rounds of seasoning using vegetable shortening. Cast iron cookware will last hundreds of years and generations if properly taken care of. These are beautiful, heirloom quality pieces made right here in the USA. Will be bubble wrapped and surrounded by packing material to ensure that they don’t shift in transit. They are not making cookware like this anymore, and I would consider it tragic if anything were to happen to these in transit. They will be packed very well. For your consideration is this hefty #10 cast Iron skillet from Birmingham Stove and Range. Birmingham Stove & Range (BSR) made two lines of cast iron cookware, their Red Mountain Series from the 1930’s until the 1950’s, and their Century Series from the 50’s onward. This piece is from the Century Series and likely dates to the mid 1960’s. The cooking surface has some light rash on the surface but is still very smooth and can hardly be felt by hand. This pan will still perform beautifully, and the surface will continue to smooth out with use. These BSR skillets are awesome to cook with. They have the heft of a modern Lodge skillet for when you want to put a good sear on your steak or roast. They also have the smooth polished cooking surface vintage iron is renowned for. A real workhorse in the kitchen. The bottom has a heat ring and is marked with the skillet size in inches along with size No. Sits flat and would work well for all cooktops. BSR skillets are a great value for anyone wanting the smooth cooking surface of a vintage skillet, without the price tag of other brands. A great daily user. Cleaned to bare iron using electrolysis then seasoned 3 times.
