The door shuts by means of lift up latch and has a peep hole to check progress which could be replaced by a thermometer if preferred (if to be used as outside pizza oven) or great traditional design to use to reinstate a missing bread oven in the inglenook. The door is new and unused therefore I would suggest it needing to be’seasoned’ (start with low heat and then build the intensity over a number of days).
